The people behind RSPS List
We're long-time RuneScape private server players who got tired of toplists where the top spot went to whoever paid the most. So we built the one we wanted to use: every RSPS ranked by real player votes, and nothing else.
We've watched servers launch, boom, and fade for years. That history is baked into how we rank, verified votes, fresh daily and monthly cycles, and zero paid placement.
Three rules we don't bend
Players vote, servers rank
Position is earned by votes from people playing the server, never by a fee.
Every vote is checked
Callbacks and filtering strip out bots and fakes before they count.
Numbers stay fresh
Daily and monthly resets mean the toplist shows who's busy right now.
Years in the scene, not on the sidelines
RSPS List isn't run by a marketing team that found a niche. It's run by players who've been in these worlds for a long time, and that shows up in every ranking decision we make.
It started as a hobby
We grew up logging into private servers after school, picking them apart to see how they worked. That curiosity never wore off: it's why this site exists.
We play what we list
We've spent years inside the RSPS scene as players and tinkerers. We know the difference between a server that's busy and one that just looks busy.
Built in the open
Our ranking is one rule: real player votes, verified. No private deals, no top spot for sale. If a server is on top, players put it there.
The scene runs this
Thousands of players and owners pass through RSPS List every week. The list reflects what they're actually playing, not what we'd like them to.
Votes we can stand behind
We verify votes through callbacks and our own filtering, so bots and self-votes get stripped out before they ever move the rankings.
Always current
Vote counts reset on daily and monthly cycles. A server that was huge two years ago doesn't get to coast on it: the toplist shows who's busy now.
Our core values
Three principles shape every feature we ship and every server we rank. They're the reason players keep coming back to a list they can trust.
Transparency
Rankings come from votes, and votes alone. Every server starts on equal footing, and we'll tell you exactly how the order is decided.
Honest signal
We'd rather show a smaller list we trust than a padded one we don't. Verification and fresh vote cycles keep the numbers meaning something.
Community first
Players find their next server here; owners reach the people who'll actually log in. We're the bridge, and we try to keep it fair for both sides.
Why rsps.org matters to how we operate
When we built RSPS List, we made a deliberate choice to root it in something older than ourselves: the community at rsps.org, which has been the backbone of the RuneScape private server scene since the early 2000s. Not as a badge of authority, but because the people there have seen things we haven't, and that knowledge changes how we approach everything.
The most practical example is how we handle vote fraud. Bot patterns that look plausible to a modern classifier are immediately recognisable to someone who watched the same tricks evolve across fifteen server generations. That institutional memory is not something you can build with data alone.
It also shapes how we think about which servers belong on this list. Servers that chase short-term vote inflation tend to behave in recognisable ways. The people who have watched hundreds of servers launch, peak and die know those patterns on sight. We take that seriously when we set our standards.
